im irrational (unlike from normal ppl)

ok. here goes the story:
i had econs lecture today
Dr was trying to explain marginal principal with an eg
E.G. : Ah lian has bought tickets to go to the phantom of
Opera before ah beng asked her out for dinner. She likes
Ah beng. Should she go to the opera or have dinner with ah
beng?
so based on the assumption that humans are rational
creatures, ah lian will go to dinner and not go to watch the opera.
that was wat the teacher had concluded.

however, if i am ah lian. i wld go to the opera and not haf dinner.
since the time i bought the tickets for the opera, i'll not be free
for the dinner. to mi, first come first serve?? ah beng can arrange
a date with ah lian another day? cos ah lian is obviously not free
as she has to go watch the opera??

does that show that im an irrational person??
if so, im quite worried for my econs... haiz!
